Held over two days starting Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Kagoshima, the “34th Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Basic Science Conference” explored the theme “Foundations for the Future of Plastic Surgery Treatment: Plastic Surgery as Craftsmanship and Its Foundations.” The conference featured lively discussions on re-examining the essence of plastic surgery, the role of basic research in supporting better clinical practice, and the importance of collaboration with other fields.
At this conference, two physicians from Shonan Beauty Clinic were recognized for their academic activities and clinical achievements and took the stage. Dr. Hidetoshi Muramatsu, who oversees both technical and academic fields, presented on systematizing physician and nurse education based on a network of over 120 clinics nationwide, and on building a technical education model emphasizing safety and reproducibility. Additionally, Dr. Eiko Tanaka, Director of the Takatsuki Clinic, compared multiple surgical techniques for treating upper eyelid ptosis and presented the optimal approach tailored to each individual patient's condition.
